Photographs from Arctic Circle residency, June 2018

The Northland project brought me to the Arctic Circle and North Iceland through an arc of 3 residencies in 2017 and 2018. Conscious of the rare privilege that this opportunity represents, it is my intention and hope that the cultural value of what transmit from these first-hand learning experiences will offset the uncomfortable fact that travel to the Arctic degrades the Arctic.

Nighttime under the midnight sun. It’s 1:30 am. Not sleeping but content, nesting on the deck of the Antigua. Temperature hovering around freezing, a high spf sunblock was required!
